Public procurement directs about €2 trillion of public spending across the EU each year, and far more across the wider world. The stakes are immense, yet most of the work is mechanical: hundreds of pages to read, annexes to cross-check, scoring tables to verify, deadlines that cannot move. On both sides of the table, the people closest to the decisions spend their time on work that should never have been manual.
Public procurement decides where an enormous share of public money goes, and most of the work around it is still mechanical. We built Viran so the mechanical part disappears and the judgment part gets the time it deserves.
