Viran was selected as one of ten finalists at Startup World Cup Tampere, held on 15 October 2026 at Tavara-asema in Tampere. Co-founder and CEO Aaro Angerpuro represented the company in the pitching competition, presenting how Viran helps companies find and win government contracts in international markets.

The competition brought together ten startups: Viran, Dokport, MedicubeX, Commu, Sensible 4, Nuanic, Green Factory AI, SEATOM, StemSight and FurnaQuantum.

Organised by Rise Finland as part of the global Startup World Cup competition, the Tampere regional final offered its winner a place at the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in San Francisco, where startups compete for a $1 million investment prize.

Changing how companies sell to the public sector

Public procurement represents one of the world's largest commercial markets, yet discovering and winning government contracts remains fragmented across thousands of isolated national and municipal portals.

Viran replaces manual portal searching with automated screening and qualification, surfacing relevant tenders for each supplier and helping teams decide which contracts are worth pursuing.

Coverage spans both domestic procurement agencies and international institutions, giving suppliers a single interface for opportunities that would otherwise require monitoring dozens of separate platforms.

Aaro Angerpuro: AI and public procurement

Aaro Angerpuro, co-founder and CEO of Viran, presented the company's approach to applying artificial intelligence and large-scale procurement data to government contracting.

His work challenges traditional approaches to public-sector sales, turning a historically slow, fragmented market into an accessible and scalable growth channel for competitive businesses.

The Startup World Cup appearance provided an opportunity to present this vision alongside technology companies building across hardware, life sciences and software.
