Viran has extended tender monitoring to the Inter-American Development Bank. IDB-financed contracts are now screened alongside national and EU procurement, matched against the supplier's capability profile, and returned with a go or no-go and the reasoning attached.
The Bank has 48 member countries: 26 borrowing members across Latin America and the Caribbean, where the work is delivered, and 22 non-borrowing members, Finland among them, whose suppliers can compete for the resulting contracts. The Bank finances the project; the executing agency in the borrowing country runs the procurement and signs the contract.
Distance is not the obstacle it looks like. These competitions are meant to be visible internationally, and a supplier's location matters less than whether it can deliver against the requirement and meet the Bank's rules on eligibility and documentation.
