Viran has been selected as a finalist for Agentic Breakthrough of the Year at the AI Gala 2026. Presented by AI Finland, the recognition is one of Finland's premier national honours in artificial intelligence, celebrating breakthroughs that turn agentic AI from experimental pilots into practical, scalable systems in production.
Recognised by AI Finland alongside Nordea and Jourier
The award is organised by AI Finland, the national cross-industry artificial intelligence network launched under Technology Industries of Finland (Teknologiateollisuus) as part of a €13.2 million national AI investment and developed in close cooperation with Business Finland. Bringing together hundreds of member organisations across industry, startups, research institutions and the public sector, AI Finland is the central body advancing enterprise AI adoption and international AI competitiveness in Finland.
It is great to be recognised in the Agentic Breakthrough of the Year category alongside Nordea and Jourier. As the largest financial services group in the Nordics, Nordea serves millions of customers across the region in one of the most strictly regulated industries, making its large-scale work with agentic AI particularly impressive. The category spans from productised platforms built for companies to major agentic transformations inside large enterprises.
Building the agentic AI for global public procurement
At Viran, we are building the AI for public procurement, giving suppliers the world's most comprehensive and accurate view of the $13 trillion global government contracting market.
Public procurement is fragmented across thousands of isolated national, municipal and institutional portals and published in dozens of languages. Every week, Viran ingests and screens more than 200,000 public tenders worldwide, covering national and regional authorities, EU-wide notices and multilateral institutions.
Rather than functioning as a keyword search database, Viran operates as an AI bid team across the entire procurement lifecycle:
- Global screening and qualification: Agentic workflows continuously evaluate incoming notices against each supplier's specific capabilities, delivery geography, past references and commercial criteria, surfacing relevant contract opportunities that manual portal monitoring misses.
- Complete tender-package analysis: Public contracts are governed not just by the notice, but by full tender packages containing technical specifications, suitability thresholds, ESPD forms, pricing sheets, scoring matrices and draft contracts. Viran reads and cross-checks these documents across languages to identify mandatory requirements, risks and commercial fit before a team commits bid resources.
- Traceable, deterministic verification: In public procurement, a single missed eligibility requirement or unverified assumption can disqualify a bid. Every qualification decision and document assessment in Viran is anchored directly to the official notice and underlying procurement files.
Thank you to AI Finland for the recognition, and congratulations to fellow finalists Nordea and Jourier.
